The Dubai International Boat Show, the largest marine event in the Middle East and North Africa region returned to the glamorous Dubai Harbour from March 9th to 13th and we didn't want you to miss a thing.
Thousands of visitors attended this year’s edition of the event and were able to see first-hand exclusive 2022 global and regional launches. If like us, you were unable to be there, here’s a short recap of some of the best boat models that generated a buzz.
San Lorenzo SX88
The 88 ft (27 m) built-in Italy motor yacht is an elegant vessel with a revolutionary design aimed to reshape the way owners and guests live on board. It can accommodate up to 8 guests in 4 staterooms and 3 crew members.
Designed by Officina Italiana Design, with naval architecture by Lou Codega and Luca Santella, the San Lorenzo SX88 is equipped with a teak deck, a Grp displacement hull, and carbon fiber superstructure painted in dark colors to disguise the volume of the vessel. Piero Lissoni signs its interior design redefining onboard space with an open ship concept that turns the vessel into a loft, a highly habitable space with a flexible layout and no rigid separations between areas where it’s easier to socialize.
With its three Volvo Penta diesel engines, with a top speed of 23.0 kn and a cruising speed of 20.0 kn, it can reach a maximum cruising range of 1000.0 nm at 10.0 kn.
Sunreef Eco Line 80
At this year’s edition of the show, sustainable products gained momentum and the 78 ft (24 m) Sunreef 80 Eco is a great example of how to experience responsible long offshore navigation, whilst remaining in maximum comfort and luxury.
Designed and engineered in-house, the star of Sunreef Yachts line of eco-responsible luxury catamarans gathers electric propulsion, superyacht living spaces with multiple decors, and ethically sourced and eco-responsible finishing materials possibilities, performance, and green technologies in a single vessel.
This Sunreef vessel is equipped with many green technologies: its electric engines range from 2 x 80kW to 2 x 180kW for a silent and energy-efficient yachting experience on days when the wind isn’t blowing, at night the air conditioning can run without using the generator, its solar panels that be integrated with various composite structures such as the boom, mast, deck and hull sides, and superstructure covering a total area of 150 square meters (164m²), can generate up to 32kWp. Its batteries, 30% lighter than the average used in the boating industry, allow it to reach a density of less than 5.2kg / kWh for better weight-efficiency and performance.
The all-new SilverCat 40 Lux, the largest in the range of the family boats by Gulf Craft, is a practical spacious 40 ft (12 m) power catamaran ideal for both family fishing and leisure cruising.
The yacht offers a lot of deck space: a spacious aft cockpit and wraparound side decks and a lounge in the bow with plenty of space for everyone on board and even parties. Its interior also has roomy lounging areas with facing sofas, a totally equipped galley, and the head of the vessel.
With a beam of 13ft 7in (4.13m) and a draft of 3ft 10in (1.18m), it can come equipped with a wide choice of engines: twin 440 hp Volvo Penta D6 inboards or outboard engines, either two 400 hp Mercury Verado V8s or four 300hp Mercury Verado V8s. Plus, with optional solar power yacht owners can easily fully charge all onboard electrics.
One of the world’s largest and most impressive yachts, the 298 ft (91 m) luxury motor mega yacht Moonlight II is ideal for the ones seeking onboard comfort and entertainment, turning moments into very special occasions.
Its luxury interior is fitted with many special features such as cinema, relaxation areas, one of the most extensive spa facilities of any yacht on the charter market, a gym, and more than 2,400 square meters of guest space.

Equipped with a bespoke hybrid power propulsion system, the 200 ft (60 m) vessel is designed for better efficiency and less environmental impact when cruising.
With an exterior design by Azure Yacht Design & Naval Architecture, this extraordinary vessel is ready for long-term autonomous sea cruising. Besides, it offers plenty of storage space and it is fitted with an Ice Class hull to enhance global exploration. H2 Yacht Design signs its interiors that can easily accommodate up to 12 guests and 17 crew members on board.
Featuring a helipad on the aft deck, the vessel is always adventure-ready. The main aft deck functions can be turned into a suite, an alfresco dining and lounge space, a dive, or even an alpine ski center.
Cranchi Settantotto 78
The 82 ft (25 m) Settantotto by Cranchi Yachts joins modern and classic in a minimal timeless vessel with a fluid form for optimal balance. Designed by Christian Grande, it comes equipped with a Kevlar and carbon body. Plus, as the vessel is painted using DuPont technology, yacht owners can choose between a wide range of color palettes of the Cranchi Yacht shipyard.
Its flybridge is fitted with a hardtop, whereas its interior filling and trim can be personalized according to yacht owners’ needs. Throughout the whole vessel, lightning and microclimate can be controlled using the Smart Home System. Designed for eight berths for passengers and with an accommodation capacity of up to 18 people and 3 crew members, the superyacht comes equipped with four cabins (including a master suite with separate bathrooms), as well as a Beach Club option, through which owners can store a tender and a jet ski.
In terms of performance, it comes equipped with three Volvo IPS engines with 3,000 hp capacity and a maximum speed of up to 33 kn (23 kn when cruising). Besides, Settantotto stabilizers and Hamphree spoilers allow yacht operators to control the vessel either on the go or while anchoring.
The 86 ft (26 m) Y85 motor yacht by the leading luxury British yacht manufacturer Princess Yachts is a triumph of contemporary design.
With exterior design by Olesinski Ltd. and Pininfarina and interior design penned by Princess Yachts, with naval architecture by Olesinski Ltd., this elegant flybridge yacht can accommodate up to 8 guests onboard as well as 4 crew members. Plus, it is fitted with a grp hull and grp superstructure that along with its 2 MAN engines help it reach a top speed of 32 kn.
