The renowned Palma International Boat Show, the opening event of the Mediterranean nautical season, is back this week from April 28th to May 1st. It is set to bring over 600 boats and the Palma Superyacht Village to Palma’s Moll Vell, the seaside promenade of the city. Definitely, an incredible opportunity in a unique setting at the foot of Palma’s cathedral, boat lovers and maritime professionals will not want to miss.

The organizers were able to turn the 2021 edition of the event, the industry’s first show during the pandemic, into a success, both in terms of exhibitors and visitors, with 227 exhibitors attending, 85% of them repetitors.

The former Palma Superyacht Show is now called the Superyacht Village and it will feature some of the best over 24 m superyachts in the market, a dedicated Refit & Repair area specifically targeting yachting industry’s experts and professionals, as well as a wide number of shore-side brands that will be representing their latest products and technologies in sail design and marine electronics.

Over 150 people have been employed since April 11th to get the venue ready for the first show of the nautical season: from general workers, fitters, decorators, carpenters, electricians, among many other suppliers of different services. One of their most interesting accomplishments of this year’s edition of the event is the incorporation of more than 200 meters of floating line, an area for the mooring of boats and the circulation of visitors to the event that was particularly difficult to bring to life since the new showground assembled at sea required a predevelopment of special infrastructures set up from scratch. Besides that, these professionals have successfully installed a floating 72 m long and 5 m wide gangway to connect the Consigna breakwater with the Fishing Industry Quay in a circular route.

At the event, visitors will be able to see and visit exciting boat and superyacht models, talk to boat manufacturers, find renowned boating maintenance and related services, electronics, navigation and communication brands, discover novelties in terms of nautical equipment and sports, gather information about marinas, marine engines and generators, check new models of jet skis and quad bikes, as well as nautical-tourism offer as for example charter.

Opening hours: from 10 am until 8 pm

Location: Moll Vell – Port of Palma

Organization: The Business Innovation Institute of the Balearic Islands (IDI)
